Got new tires mounted on the new wheels Saturday afternoon. Just some Douglas A/S tires, which strangely enough is a pretty decent tire for the money:
Went home and put them on the van, despite the snow/sleet that was coming down, the temp was nice, so it wasn’t bad to do:
That’ll make my work done on this one until the weather warms up.

I have a set of Douglas tires on my Volt and have been very happy with them given what they cost.

$266 for 4 brand new tires, figure if they last a couple years they’re well worth it. I’ve had various Douglas tires, they always seemed to handle/ride/grip decent, they just don’t last a long time.

I’ve had mine slightly over two years, and I doubt they’ll make it to fall. I have around 30,000 miles on them. I can definitely see a drop off in terms of traction when it’s wet. Dry weather grip is still better than with the tires that were on it before, but those were low rolling resistance tires.

It is absolutely amazing that you bought new wheels for this van. Though only slightly more amazing than the fact that you bought new tires for it at all. I bet yours is the only one left whose owner who cares to put decent tires on it.
Though to be fair-this gen of Chrysler minivans really were pretty damn good vehicles.

“Repainted” wheels I had laying around.
I own 2, both get new tires when needed.

30k is about what I was figuring I’d get out of them, so they’ll probably work perfect.
